This week my girlies and I made some fabulous homemade marshmallows. I kept forgetting to pick up unflavored gelatin, but after days of the Tiddlywampus reminding me, I made a special trip to the market for a bulk sized bag.
They were easy enough to make, though a bit messy. I couldn't belive how springy and bouncy they were!
We snacked on them, we shared some, we roasted them over a fire in the backyard. (Truth be told we couldn't wait for Danny to build a fire, so we toasted them up over an Aspen Bay candle...worked just as well!
We made Smitten Kitchens recipe for vanilla marshmallows, and another batch substituting the vanilla for peppermint and swirled chocolate in - we decided these would be great for Christmas gifts! I saw some Snickerdoodle ones coated in cinnamon and sugar, I think we'll try these next!
