:: completed ::
With all of the ongoing projects around here, I sometimes wonder when they will ever be finished. The answer is most likely never, because there will always be a new pattern to try, scarf to knit or fabric to sew into something amazing. Oh, one by one they will eventually be completed, but there will always be a new project lingering, an idea that turns into a sketch, that evolves into a pattern, that gets cut out and pinned on the dining room table, stitched a bit...but eventually supper will need to be started, the laundry folded, an order to fill, an errand to run.
However, this quilt had an eager little child waiting. She needed it for her new bed, and so it was my first priority for a few days.
I couldn't be happier with how it turned out, and neither could she! I made a simple pillow to match, lay it across her bed and she couldn't wait until bedtime. Every night since, after she says her prayers, she traces the heart with her fingers, smiling. Most of her 3 year old little life has consisted of hand-me-downs, so to have something of her own that she helped create, made her so very happy. And that makes me happy.
The quilt is Anna Maria Horners, "Love Emblem" and can be found here.
