Home.

There's just something about houses that is so heartwarming to me. When I was younger, I would doodle a house with a tree out front, a mailbox, a fence. Amazingly, I can draw that house right now and it looks not unlike my own today.  Houses symbolize strength, warmth, joy, family. They elude feelings of security and love. And do you notice, the houses that we are drawn to are not masive and expensive, but cozy, simple and quaint.

I made this glittered little saltbox house this weekend.  It had been sitting here, seeping no inspiration, until the Tiddlywampus got out my glitters for a project of her own. I covered it in ModPodge, sprinkled it with glitter, and Viola!

All of this inspired me to go house hunting! But not for expensive Real Estate, just shopping around on etsy!

This one reminds me of my Uncle, who lived in the mountains.

Warm Milk Before Bed

When one or more them is bouncing about at 7:56pm with no signs of surrender, this "Milk Tea," usually does the trick. It's warm, sweet, fills their tummies and makes them feel extra special as I let them sip from my good tea cups.   I love to drink it myself, it reminds me of the Big Train Spiced Chai I drank in college, only without all the caffine.

1 cup milk
1/2 tsp honey
2 pinches of cinnamon
1/4 tsp vanilla

Warm the milk in the microwave or in a small saucepan, just a little hotter than lukewarm.  Add honey, vanilla and cinnamon and stir well.  To froth it up, pour it into a large bowl & beat well with a wire wisk.
